Berde Renewables and Holcim Philippines Strengthen Partnership with Major Renewable Energy Projects in Davao City and Lugait, Misamis Oriental

Manila, Philippines – Berde Renewables Inc., a distributed renewable energy portfolio company of I Squared Capital based in  the Philippines, has announced the expansion of its partnership with Holcim Philippines. Building on the  success of last year’s solar rooftop projects, the two companies are now taking their collaboration to the next level. Together, they will work to increase the renewable energy capacity at Holcim’s facilities in  Davao City and Lugait Misamis Oriental, further enhancing their sustainability efforts.

Through the expanded partnership, Berde Renewables will take on the design, construction, and  management of additional solar facilities at new Holcim sites, increasing the combined capacity to 12.79  megawatt-peak (MWp). These installations are expected to generate approximately 21,263 megawatt hours of clean energy annually, which will help reduce carbon emissions by approximately 14,000 metric  tons per year. This project supports Holcim’s ambitious goal of reducing Scope 2 emissions by 65 percent  by 2030.

Berde Renewables and PSS Group join forces to lead Southeast Asia’s Renewable Energy Revolution

Manila, Philippines – Berde Renewables Inc., a distributed renewable energy portfolio company of I Squared Capital, and Power Systems and Solutions Co. Ltd. (PSS), a renewable developer and EPC with 105MW of experience in Thailand, have announced a joint venture aimed at supporting the clean energy transition in Thailand and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

This collaboration will develop and deploy solar photovoltaic, battery storage, and hybrid energy solutions to support the growing demand for sustainable power in industrial, commercial, and grid-scale applications. The joint venture will start with operating assets of 18.9 MWp, 30 MWp under construction, and 170 MWp in the pipeline, with a goal to develop, own, and operate 300MW of renewable projects over the next three years.

The joint venture combines Berde Renewables’ clean energy technologies with PSS Group’s expertise in engineering, oil and gas, power, renewables, and industrial service businesses. Together, the companies will provide integrated solutions that enhance energy efficiency, asset management, and extend the lifespan of key infrastructures across Thailand’s renewable energy market.

Berde Renewables partners with Magic Group of Companies to expand solar energy in Northern Luzon

SAN CARLOS CITY, PANGASINAN — Leading renewable energy firm Berde Renewables has solidified its commitment to expanding sustainable energy solutions in the Philippines through a strategic partnership with Northern Luzon retail giant Magic Group of Companies This collaboration marks a significant step toward advancing renewable energy adoption in the region, beginning with the installation of a 729-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar power system at Magic Mall San Carlos.

The solar power purchase agreement (PPA) between the two companies is expected to be completed within a 12-month timeframe. The installation is projected to generate approximately 983,690 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy annually, translating to a reduction of 860 tons of carbon emissions over the next decade.

27 OCTOBER 2023 SINGAPORE, Berde Renewables, a distributed energy platform of I Squared Capital, announced today that it has signed a power purchase agreement with Holcim Philippines, a member of the Holcim Group, for solar rooftop projects on two of its plants. Berde Renewables will build, operate and maintain rooftop solar facilities on Holcim’s plants in Bulacan and La Union with a combined capacity of 5.5 MWp and an annual generation of approximately 7.8 GWh. 

The rooftop solar facilities are expected to be commissioned in 2024 and projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 5,500 tCo2e per year. The project will accelerate Holcim’s journey to reduce Scope 2 emissions by 65 percent by 2030.
